Mazda Connect Extends Smartphone Integration
MAZDA CONNECT Makes Dealer-Installed Smartphone Integration Available for More Mazda Vehicles
Staying connected while staying safe on the road just got a bit easier.
Apple CarPlay™ integration for iPhone® and Android Auto™ are now available as a dealer-installed update for applicable Mazda vehicles, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) recently announced.
The update applies to the 2014 model year and newer, as long as the vehicle has been equipped with the MAZDA CONNECTâ„¢ infotainment system. The integration will help keep drivers focused on the road, and their eyes away from their smartphone.
Mazda Smartphone Connection Technology
The anticipated dealer-installed update includes new hardware and software components.
Applicable Mazda vehicles will now be equipped with faster charging 2.1-amp USB ports in addition to the latest version of the MAZDA CONNECTâ„¢ infotainment system. Â The updated USB port will allow devices to charge faster than previous versions.
The first appearance of these updated technologies was in the 2018 Mazda6 and is now available for the 2019 Mazda CX-9 and the 2019 Mazda CX-5.
MAZDA CONNECTâ„¢ allows drivers to safely drive their vehicle while accessing apps on their smartphone through the infotainment system.
The idea behind this level of connection is to minimize distracted driving and create the opportunity for effortless entertainment. To minimize distractions and encourage safer operations, drivers can make adjustments and selections through the multi-function Commander knob, shortcut buttons, or through voice command functions.
Safety Features of MAZDA CONNECT Technology
These updates are just a few of the many ways Mazda strives to keep drivers and passengers safe while also incorporating the latest in technology.
With each vehicle model it produces, the goal is to create a vehicle that is eye-catching, exhilarating, while also taking safety seriously.
Safety and technology features in addition to MAZDA CONNECTâ„¢ include:
i-ACTIVSENSE®:
Taking an active approach to safety, i-ACTIVSENSE® uses milliwave radars and cameras to keep the driver in tune with their surroundings while they’re focused on the road. The system works continuously so the driver can be alerted to potential hazards and collisions.
SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY:Â
Each aspect of Mazda’s vehicle lineup is engineered to maximize efficiency and driving dynamics. From the body construction, engine technology, to the chassis and transmission, SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY promotes better performance for the vehicle without making compromises.
Instilling a sense of harmony and confidence, Mazda strives to create a vehicle that responds to every command and driving input. Consumers with Mazda vehicles that are eligible for the latest updates can have the software and hardware updated at DePaula Mazda.
