Mazda CX-50 Crossover SUV Features

Labeled an “investigator of curiosity,” the CX-50 is one of Mazda’s newest models, designed with the modern driver in mind. As such, the Mazda CX-50 Crossover offers drivers a unique set of features and enhancements that take advantage of Mazda’s advances in technology, safety, and design.

Intuitive Performance

Rooted in Mazda’s KODO: Soul of Motion design philosophy, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 merges the driver with its vehicle in a seamless manner, offering an intuitive driving experience that originates within the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) system. The MX-50 also features a standard i-Activ® all-wheel drive (AWD) system and offers drivers different drive modes, including normal, sport, and off-road. It’s topped off with an optional turbo engine for enhanced performance capabilities.

Expansive Design

To Mazda, design is about more than just aesthetics; it intimately affects the driving experience. This is Mazda’s concept of Jinba Ittai, which means “like rider, like horse.” In this sense, the design of the CX-50 intimately considers the experience of the driver and consciously connects individuals to the vehicles they drive in a fusion between form and function — literally.

The expansive design features of the Mazda CX-50 include smooth lines, reflective surfaces, and a color palette rooted in Mother Nature herself. Mazda CX-50 interior design elements, such as a panoramic moonroof and climate-controlled seats, also help the driver adapt and thrive in any environment.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Like all 2023 models, the Mazda CX-50 includes Mazda Connected Services free of charge for the first three years of ownership. This top-of-the-line technology allows drivers to access Roadside Assistance and vehicle health reports through the MyMazda app. In addition, the 2023 CX-50 offers drivers additional tech features, such as in-cabin Wi-Fi, remote start, and vehicle finder.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

As a natural expansion of its intuitive driver features, the Mazda CX-50 includes several safety elements that anticipate hazards and help drivers adapt and avoid them in a seamless, easy manner.

This includes features such as adaptive headlights and an active driving display. In addition, more tech-forward enhancements like a 360-degree view monitor and Mazda’s i-Activsense® adaptive features keep driver and vehicle united in the interest of keeping everyone safe.

Mazda CX-50 Trims and Specs

Mazda designed 10 different trim packages for the 2023 CX-50, which begins with the CX-50 S and tops out with the Mazda CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus. All models offer a 2.5L SKYACTIV®-G engine and AWD.

However, as we move up the line, each trim level of the CX-50 gives drivers additional features and benefits. These include automatic folding and dimming side mirrors as well as other exterior enhancements, such as a moonroof, and interior enhancements, like a heated steering wheel.

Is the CX-50 bigger Than the CX-5?

It’s no secret that the Mazda CX-50 Crossover debuted as a larger version of the CX-5, but the specific differences between these two vehicles is not always as clear. Oddly enough, the CX-50 is actually shorter than the CX-5; it is 63.9 inches tall, compared to 65.4 inches. However, every other spec of the CX-50 is slightly larger than the CX-5, starting with its ground clearance, which is 8.6 inches, compared to 7.9 inches.

The Mazda CX-50 also boasts a length of 185.8 inches, compared to the 180.1 inches of the CX-5. This translates to 59.3 cubic feet of cargo space in the CX-50, while only 56.4 cubic feet are available in the CX-5. Finally, the CX-50 is 72.9 inches wide, compared to 72.6 inches for the CX-5.
