2020 Mazda CX-9

Expertly Crafted Third-Row SUV

With superior handling and agility, the new CX-9 third-row SUV Lives up to its vehicle-type name — sport utility vehicle — with an emphasis on sport.

While it might look like a duplicate of the 2019 model, the new CX-9 is anything but a replication.

Similar to the rest of the 2020 Mazda vehicle lineup, the CX-9 now comes standard with Mazda’s i-Activesense suite of driver-assist features which include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

Also now standard in 2020, are some of the features that make driving the full-size SUV a pleasure, such as heated front seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and heated exterior mirrors.

2020 Mazda CX-9 Performance

Under the hood, the 2020 CX-9 offers drivers 250-horsepower with a turbocharged 2.5-liter V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission and 320 pounds-per-feet of torque.

All-wheel-drive models will also get the brand-new off-road traction-assist feature. The upgrade is meant to increase traction on rougher terrains. When wheels diagonal from each other lose traction, off-road traction assist will reduce engine torque and increase the force of the braking system on the wheels without traction.

This process will then transfer power to the stable wheels so that the powerful mid-size SUV can regain control.

This could be a very desirable feature for drivers in the Capital Region and its surrounding areas who want to get the most out of their SUV, especially during the winter months.

The combination of power and stability makes this an ideal vehicle for driving enthusiasts that also need more cargo space.

2020 Mazda CX-9 Interior

The all-new CX-9 comes standard with heated front seats, infotainment center with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and power-adjustable second-row row seats, among other amenities.

The Grand Touring, Signature, and the new Touring Premium package adds second-row captain’s chairs, rather than the traditional bench seating. This update can make hauling sports equipment or traveling with the family that much easier — and more enjoyable.

Drivers can also choose between two new upholstery color options in the top-of-the-line Signature trim level — Parchment or Deep Chestnut. Both colors are premium Nappa leather.
