What better way to experience the soft breezes and bright sunshine of summer but in a new 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF two-seat sports car? Our Mazda dealership in Albany, NY has a number of the new 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF retractable fastbacks. It’s not to be confused with the regular Miata and its manually foldable soft top. You’ll definitely be noticed in this brand new exclusive “Machine Gray” paint color, which we have in inventory along with both the Club and Touring editions. No other Mazda dealership in the Albany area has the volume or the new unique color shade of a 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF that we do at DePaula.
Knowing Mazda’s reputation for having a driver-focused philosophy, it’s no surprise that this MX-5 RF roadster is the brand’s only current sports car and only current convertible, plus it is already the best-selling two-seater in history. No Albany driver can go wrong choosing this sexy vehicle. Visitors to our Mazda dealership remark how gorgeous and stylish the new Miata RF is. Mazda engineers and designers did a supreme job creating something new while maintaining Mazda’s trademark ease-of-use reputation
Two Trim Levels
The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF is available in two trim levels: Club and Grand Touring. Both Club and Grand Touring, available at our Albany showroom, are equipped with the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and come either as a manual or automatic transmission.
The Club trim is more sport-oriented while the Grand Touring offers more comfort-tuned luxury items along with a long list of convenience features. Our showroom sales managers are eager to show you the Club model that features LED head/daytime lights, manual climate control, a knob-controlled infotainment system with a 7.0-inch color touchscreen, Bose nine-speaker audio, HD and satellite radio, a CD player, Bluetooth phone/audio, two USB ports, and an auxiliary audio jack. Standard safety features include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. A Brembo front brake and forged BBS wheel package is available on the Club 6MT, which also includes an aero kit and keyless entry.
The Grand Touring automatic adds automatic climate control/headlights/wipers, heated, auto-dimming mirrors, heated leather seats, and navigation. Safety is enhanced with features such as an alarm system, auto high-beams with road following, and a lane departure warning. We are one of the select Mazda dealers with two U.S.-exclusive Launch Editions (limited to 1,000), which offer a black top, Nappa leather, and gray metallic paint.
For those who truly want a traditional roadster experience, the manual gearbox-equipped Club model will give any driver a ride to remember. These particular models are the sportiest with slick shifting, a retuned suspension, Bilstein dampers, limited-slip differential and shock tower brace.
Raise the Roof
Summer driving is an opportunity to take in some breathtaking scenery especially with the top down in your 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF. And you can quickly get the roof stowed at the touch of a button in about 14 seconds. Plus it can be operated at speeds up to 6 mph. It is built with a power-operated folding hardtop roof that slides the center roof piece away under the rear decklid. Mazda engineers built the car with a new roof design that incorporates flying buttress elements to stow the roof. Between the buttresses is a glass rear window that rolls down providing a more open-air feeling. Drivers will not experience any loss of trunk space either.
If you’re planning to drive to the summit of nearby Whiteface Mountain, the 2017 Mazda Miata MX-5 has enough engine power to get you there safely with world-class handling. Under the hood, it offers a 155-horsepower, 2.0-liter I-4 producing 148 lb-ft of torque driving the rear wheels. With the reduction of about 150 pounds from previous generations, the newest 2017 diminutive model has an improved power-to-weight ratio. Its fuel economy has also improved. Although 2017 ratings haven’t been released yet, the 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5 offered an EPA-estimated 27/34 mpg city/highway with the standard six-speed manual transmission and 27/36 mpg city/highway with the optional six-speed automatic.
But even with all of that power in the engine, the cabin remains luxurious and quiet. Mazda engineers aimed to build a convertible sports car with gorgeous fastback lines when the roof is closed and an exhilarating outdoors feel when open. When you invite that special someone for a weekend trip, the Miata MX-5 RF’s trunk is capable of carrying two soft-sided carry-on bags. You and your companion will appreciate the roadster’s suspension tuning that wards off those bumpy mountainous roads. Its seats offer a nice balance between support and comfort for those long drives. Seat bolsters hold passengers in place no matter how fast the vehicle is driven.
